it was amazing. and easy. so easy. but chicken breasts in a skillet take forever if they’re big. next time, i may cut up the chicken then cook it. today i made chocolate chip cookies. i swear appliances have a mind of their own! one batch took 10 min, one took 9 min, one batch took 14 min. what the heck?! but they were good. tomorrow we are trying leg of lamb. this should be interesting.

tonight i am attempting Julia Child’s chicken in mushroom sauce recipe. so far so good. but this will be my first time addig wine to anything with heat. i hope i don’t burn the place down! then i totally cheated and made rice out of a bag with veggies instead of the risotto i had in mind. maybe next time. i will let you know how the chicken turned out. better go turn it!

even frozen food can be great

So this morning, to compliment my bacon wrapped meatlof, I completely spoiled some frozen green beans. Bathed them i butter, sprinkled with paprika, thyme, parsley then lightly coated them with white truffle oil. Oh my goodness, it was amazing!!! Luckly green beans… No cooking tonight, just homework then bed. Even the best chefs need a night off!

Yesterday, I made homemade pizza. For the first time. Still trying to figure out why it took this long to do that. It was wonderful. absolutely wonderful. It was a good ending to a great day. Currently, in the oven; bacon wrapped meatloaf. mmmm

So I made my chocolate cream pie. Chocolate pudding on a crust. It was good! I’ve decided that one of the best thing about being the cook, you get to lick the bowl!!!! Childish yet, but the emotions that follow are pure happiness.

So I haven’t made the chocolate Bavarian cream pie yet, I’m going to make just a chocolate cream pie instead because I’m too lazy right now to go get gelatin. Oh well. It will still be delicious. Tomorrow I shall make my first attempt at homemade pizza. This should be interesting… Off to do homework now so I can cook later.

Chocolate. I can’ t quit thinking about chocolate. It is such a beautiful thing. Melted, whole, chips, pies, ice cream, cake, brownies, sauce, thick, thin, smooth, chunky. It embraces every human emotion possible. It’s edible therapy I swear. Bad day, eat chocolate. Good day, eat chocolate. In love, eat chocolate. Broken heart, eat chocolate. I could go on and on and on. I can’t tell you what my favorite chocolate is in the world and in what form because there’s too many to mention. So to temporarily cure this incessiant obsession, I shall make a pie. A chocolate Bavarian cream pie. HEAVEN.

So, on January 10, 2010 I will be embracing myself in becoming emotionally and mentally fulfilled through food. I shall scour cookbooks and food shows and cook, cook, cook my little heart out. I hope I have support and that I’m not crazy for this endeavor on top of work, school, motherhood, and planning a wedding. I love my life!
